Matthew Pendleton, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of biology and bioinformatics. Matthew is currently working as a Senior Computational Biologist at Essex Management, LLC and as a Senior bioinformatician CIDC at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Prior to this, they served as a Scientific Advisory Board Member at the MPS Society.

In terms of research, Matthew worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where they focused on structural/chemical biology, molecular design, and genetics. Matthew also contributed to projects involving XRCC4-XLF activity characterization, DNA polymerase expression and crystallography, and the development of a TALEN generating pipeline for genome manipulation.

Matthew's experience also includes working as a Bioinformatician at Oxford Nanopore Technologies Ltd, where they specialized in bioinformatics. Earlier in their career, they served as a Research Associate at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and as a Graduate Student and Junior Scientist at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Matthew started their academic journey as a Graduate Student at the University of Wyoming, where they conducted molecular biology research in various applications such as phytobacterial gene regulation, cancer and development in C. elegans, and diagnosing myocardial infarction using gene transcription indicators.

Matthew Pendleton, Ph.D. completed their education in a chronological order as follows:

From 1999 to 2003, they attended Gonzaga University and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology.

Subsequently, from 2005 to 2007, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Pharmacology at the University of Minnesota.

Lastly, they enrolled at the Icahn School of Medicine at The Mount Sinai from 2011 to 2016, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Biomedical Science with a specialization in Structural/Chemical Biology and Molecular Design MTA.
