Kristen Kurland

Kristen Kurland is an experienced human resources professional currently serving as the Head of Human Resources at Essex Property Trust since February 2020, where previous roles included VP of Human Resources and Sr. Director of Total Rewards. Kristen's responsibilities encompass payroll, benefits, HRIS and HR data analytics, compensation, wellness, rewards and recognition, as well as workforce planning and budgeting. Prior to this, Kristen held various positions within Essex Property Trust from May 2008 to January 2019, including Director of Benefits, Benefits Manager, and Benefits Coordinator. Kristen Kurland earned a Master's degree in Social Work from San Jose State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Education from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
