William Deklerk

William DeKlerk is an accomplished tax professional with extensive experience in the real estate investment trust (REIT) sector. Currently serving as Vice President of Tax at Essex Property Trust, Inc. since May 2015, William oversees various tax-related initiatives, including REIT qualification and M&A planning. Prior to Essex, William held the position of Vice President of Tax at Holiday Retirement Corporation, managing tax operations for a portfolio of over 300 senior living facilities. William's robust background also includes serving as Director of Tax Planning and Compliance at Plum Creek Timber Co., and as Sr Tax Manager at Deloitte & Touche, where William led a tax team handling complex tax matters for major corporations. William holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Oakland University.
