Leonardo Cruz

Leonardo Cruz is an experienced journalist and editor with a diverse background in digital transformation and editorial management. Currently serving as Executive Editor at ESTADÃO since May 2017, Leonardo leads a team dedicated to comprehensive coverage of significant events in Brazil and internationally, while also coaching staff on effective storytelling. Previous roles at ESTADÃO included Editor for Innovation and Special Projects Editor. Leonardo's extensive experience also encompasses significant positions at Folha de S.Paulo, where responsibilities ranged from Deputy Managing Editor for Digital content to coordinating the Front Page. In addition to editorial roles, Leonardo has participated in the selection committee for the É Tudo Verdade International Documentary Festival since 2011 and has a history as a script writer and reporter. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Communication, along with postgraduate studies in International News and British Political History.
