Machine Learning Engineer at Eta Compute

Ramesh Basnet has a diverse range of work experience in the field of machine learning. Ramesh currently works as a Machine Learning Engineer at Eta Compute since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Circle Cardiovascular Imaging from 2021 to 2022 as a Machine Learning Software Developer. In this role, Ramesh was involved in designing advanced machine learning algorithms for cardiovascular healthcare and developing medical image post-processing software. Ramesh collaborated with cardiologists and research teams to identify biomarkers for prognosis of cardiovascular diseases.

Before that, Ramesh was a Graduate Research Assistant at Concordia University from 2018 to 2020. Ramesh developed deep learning algorithms for medical image processing and participated in the MICCAI Grand Challenge on Infant Brain MRI Segmentation, where their team achieved a top rank. Ramesh also co-authored journal articles based on their research, which were published in IEEE TMI and BSPC.

Ramesh started their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, where they designed machine learning models to predict emotional states from audio-visual data. Ramesh first-authored publications on emotion recognition in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.

Additionally, Ramesh worked as a News Presenter at Bangladesh Betar from 2013 to 2017. Ramesh presented news, commentaries, and special talks live on air, and collaborated with artists of different nationalities and languages to translate news.

Ramesh Basnet pursued their education in a chronological manner. Ramesh began by attending Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology from 2012 to 2017, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Following this, they furthered their education by enrolling at Concordia University from 2018 to 2020, where they successfully completed their Master of Applied Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
