Gunnar Piel

Gunnar Piel has extensive experience in the automotive and software engineering industry. Gunnar currently holds the position of Chief Architect Software-defined Vehicle at ETAS since 2022. Before that, they served as the Chief Architect Vehicle Computer Software and E/E-Architecture at UAES, a BOSCH-JV, from 2021 to 2022. Gunnar also has a background in engineering system and software architecture, having worked as the Head of Department Engineering System & Software Architecture at Bosch from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they were a Senior Expert & Architect for Next Generation Automotive Software Architecture at Bosch from 2014 to 2017. Gunnar started their career in 1999 at Bosch Rexroth as a Software Engineer before joining Bosch in 2004 in the same role. Gunnar then progressed to become a Product Architect and Project Manager at ETAS from 2007 to 2014. Their expertise lies in software development and architecture within the automotive industry.

Gunnar Piel has a Diploma in Engineering in the field of Electrical Engineering from Berufsakademie Stuttgart.
