Sumantra Banerjee

Sumantra Banerjee is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in risk management, spanning various prominent organizations. Currently serving as the Head of Risk (Cash Commodities & Credit) at Export Trading Group since June 2016, Sumantra conceptualizes and implements risk policies and frameworks across the organization. Previously, as a Senior Risk Manager at Edelweiss Financial Services, Sumantra led a team focused on evaluating credit and market risks. Experience at Unilever as a Finance Manager involved evaluating hedging opportunities and managing risks in procurement regions. Sumantra also held the position of Treasury Manager at Godavari Biorefineries Limited, responsible for currency hedging and fundraising. An early career internship at the Reserve Bank of India included research on bond markets, and a role at Tata Consultancy Services involved supporting IT infrastructure projects. Sumantra holds a PGDM in Finance from K J Somaiya Institute of Management and an engineering degree from Anna University Chennai, along with being a Level Three Candidate at the CFA Institute.
