Electrical Design Manager

Role Overview

The Electrical Design Manager is responsible for ensuring that all designs issued by the electrical engineers are compliant with all applicable policies and standards and contain all the required details to allow for the successful delivery of the project. All elements below include both grid connection and Private/Balance of Plant Projects and range from LV through to 132kV. The Electrical Design Manager reports directly to the Head of Electrical Design.

What will you be doing?

• Acting as approving technical authority for electrical designs

• Ensure designs follow EP policies, UK standards and legislation, DNO/IDNO policies and employer’s requirements

• Approve the procurement of key items

• Responsible for the delivery of projects from a design perspective

• Establishing a culture of continuous business improvement

What are we looking for?

• Experience working as a Design Manager for grid connections

• Can demonstrate working and interfacing with clients and key stakeholders on a project

• You will possess excellent communication skills as well as strong management skills

• Good track record of portfolio management

• Strong understanding of budget and cashflow management

• Experience in Power Systems Studies
