Areej Khan

Areej Khan is currently serving as a Trauma Research Fellow at Health Services Academy since December 2023 and as a Community Volunteer with the Ethiopian Community Development Council, Inc. since January 2023, focusing on the Refugee Health Education and Outreach (RHEO) program. Areej is also an intern at Brown Emergency Medicine, contributing to a study on a pre-hospital trauma training program in rural Nepal, and has held various roles at George Mason University, where research efforts address period poverty, refugee and immigrant health, and gender-based violence. Areej's experience includes positions as an EMT 2 at Inova Fairfax Hospital and a Medical Assistant at Inova Health System, along with previous roles in emergency care, such as an Emergency Department Technician and a BLS EMT Instructor. Areej holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Virginia Tech and is pursuing further education at George Mason University.
