Howard spent over 40 years in the Corporate and Commercial Banking field both domestically and internationally. He retired from the industry in 2015 and has selectively undertaken consulting engagements for mid-size companies trying to align their financial and strategic objectives to ensure long-term success. In his last two roles prior to retiring Howard led the Commercial Banking effort for Wachovia Bank, N.A. in the Western United States (based out of San Francisco), and subsequent to the acquisition of Wachovia by Wells Fargo he led the Commercial Banking effort for Wells Fargo in Florida. Howard was a member of the Operating Committee for Wachovia in the Western U.S., and a member of the Commercial Operating Committee for Wells Fargo. His responsibilities included ownership of risk management, sales and overall P&L responsibility for businesses that generated up to $300mm in pre-tax profitability." In his 40+ years Howard has had the benefit of working through several economic cycles that have armed him well to anticipate and prepare for both ends of those cycles, managing the challenges on the down-side and leveraging the opportunity on the up-side.
