John P. Shields Ph.d.

John P. Shields, Ph.D., M.S.W. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. John P. is currently the Director of Data Strategies & Insights at ETR, where they are responsible for developing and executing the company's internal data strategy. In this role, they manage the development of agency-wide data access and utilization policies, leads the development of ETR's overall data framework, and supports project and business development tasks.

Prior to their current position, John served as the Senior Research Scientist & Managing Director of the K12T9 Initiative at ETR, where they managed business development and programs for five school district clients. John P. also worked closely with program leaders, school districts, and government organizations to promote health, diversity, and wellness, as well as to prevent substance abuse, violence, and injury. Additionally, they served as a lead consultant and trainer for a large urban school district to ensure compliance with Title IX.

In 2017, John worked as a Senior Research Scientist at dfusion Inc., contributing their expertise in research and analysis. John P. also served as a Faculty Instructor at UC Berkeley School of Social Welfare from 2013 to 2016, where they shared their knowledge and insights with students.
