Cheri Smith has a long and varied work experience. Cheri started their career in 2003 as a Tutor and Drama Teacher at Mosholu Montefiore Community Center, Inc. In 2004, they worked as a Customer Service at Santander UK Corporate & Commercial and as an Overseas Representative at First Choice. In 2005, they worked as a Trainer and Interviewer at Camp America and as a Teaching Assistant at Green Chimneys, where they worked with a class of teenage boys with Asperger's Syndrome. In 2006, they worked as a Teacher at Wandsworth Council. From 2007 to 2020, they worked at Emirates Group in a variety of roles, including Training Lead, Learning Community of Practice Chairperson, Learning and Development Manager, Learning and Development Team Leader, dnata Global Training Programme Workstream Leader, Learning and Development Advisor, Tailormade Travel Consultant, and Worldwide Reservations Consultant. In 2020, they joined Amazon as a Learning Program Manager and in 2022 they became the Head Of Training at eTribez.

Cheri Smith obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in European Theatre Arts from Rose Bruford College between 2000 and 2003. Cheri then went on to obtain a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in General Primary (5-11) from Kingston University between 2005 and 2006. In addition, they obtained a Level 1 Volleyball Coaching Certificate from the ENGLISH VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION LIMITED in June 2006. In 2012, they obtained a Level 4 Management Certificate from the SQA – Scottish Qualifications Authority and in 2013 they obtained a CIPD Certificate in Learning and Development Practice from CIPD. Finally, they obtained a CIPD Level 3 Certificate in Learning and Development Practice from City of Glasgow College between 2015 and 2016.
