Rasmus Lerdorf

Rasmus Lerdorf is a distinguished engineer at Etsy since June 2008, and an advisor with extensive experience in technology and software development. As the creator of PHP, Rasmus has been involved with the project since its inception in 1994. Rasmus served as an advisor and developer at WePay from April 2010 to December 2017, focusing on architecture, API, OAuth, and fraud prevention. From 2002 to 2009, Rasmus held the position of distinguished engineer at Yahoo! Inc., addressing architecture and security issues on the platform while engaging in internal and external evangelism. Prior experience includes a senior research engineer role at Linuxcare Inc. from January 2000 to April 2001. Rasmus holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, completed between 1988 and 1993, and attended King City Secondary in Ontario from 1983 to 1988.
