Mikko Tepponen is a board member at Etteplan. Mikko was previously the Vice President of Digital Product Development at Wärtsilä from June 2015 to May 2020, and before that, the Senior Manager of Product Management & Service Applications at Outotec from August 2012 to June 2015.

At Wärtsilä, Mikko led a business turnaround, evaluating the cost base and reducing product offerings after identifying redundancies. Mikko also addressed key with large cruise line customers with a collaborative business model to drive new revenue, from 4M€ to 6 M€. In addition, they continued key development initiatives to drive service business growth.

At Outotec, Mikko was recruited and challenged with creating IT tools and digital solutions to support the introduction of a service business model. Mikko designed the business model and tools from scratch, delivering a customer plant operating in the Russian Federation within 9 months, against a 3-year timeline. Leveraged large-scale outsourcing to build partnerships and deliver in half the time.

Mikko Tepponen has a M.Sc in automation from the Tampere University of Technology, which they obtained in 1965. Mikko also attended Lohjan Lukio, but they did not graduate from there.
