Heather MacCorkle

Heather MacCorkle is an experienced educator with a strong background in English instruction, currently serving as an English Teacher at Jim Thorpe Area High School since August 2019, where responsibilities include teaching AP® Literature and Composition, Applied English 11, Journalism, and Creative Writing, as well as advising the literary magazine, The Flame. Heather has also tutored students from grades 3 to 10 in English Language Arts through eTutorsZone, and previously taught at-risk students at Behavioral Health Associates and Youth Services Agency. Additionally, Heather held roles as a Corporate Trainer and Instructional Designer in educational technology, demonstrating expertise in curriculum development, adult learning principles, and eLearning. Academic qualifications include a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Southern California and a Master's in Postsecondary and Adult Education from Capella University, complemented by degrees in Technical Management and History.
