Jeffrey Tanner

Jeffrey Tanner has a long and varied work experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Jeffrey began their career in 1987 as an Exploration Geologist for Shell Oil Company. Jeffrey then moved to Noble Energy in 1991, where they were a Geological Advisor, Deep Water GOM Team Lead. In 2003, they became Exploration Manager for Cabot Oil & Gas. From 2010 to 2013, they worked for Laredo Petroleum, Inc. as VP - Geoscience Technology & Exploration - Permian and VP - Exploration. In 2013, they joined Southwestern Energy as VP - Exploration. From 2014 to 2019, they worked for Jones Energy, Inc. in various roles, including COO, COO & Interim CEO, EVP - Geosciences & Business Development, EVP - Geosciences, and SVP - Geosciences. In 2019, they co-founded Barton Creek Resources, where they were responsible for all Geoscience work flows. In 2022, they began consulting as an Oil & Gas Geoscience & BD Executive and joined Trailblazer Energy Resources, LLC as SVP Geology, Geophysics & Business Development.

Jeffrey Tanner received their B.S. in Geology from Texas A&M University between 1980 and 1984, followed by their M.S. in Geology from the University of Houston between 1985 and 1987. Jeffrey also holds a certification as a Certified Petroleum Geologist.
