Colin Schafer has extensive experience in law enforcement and military operations, serving with the Eugene Police Department since August 2018 in various capacities including Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor, Special Weapons and Tactics Operator, and Patrol Officer. Prior to this role, Colin was a Primary Marksmanship Instructor at the Weapons Field Training Battalion from July 2016 to August 2018, responsible for training recruits and Marines in marksmanship and combat pistol programs. Colin also served as an 81mm Mortar Section Leader with the 1st Battalion 7th Marines during combat operations in Afghanistan and Iraq from September 2013 to June 2016, and as an 81mm Mortar Gunner/Assistant Patrol Leader with the 2nd Battalion 7th Marines from February 2011 to August 2013. Colin's military training began as a recruit at the Recruit Training and School of Infantry in late 2010. Academic achievements include a Bachelor's degree in General Studies with a concentration in Criminal Justice Essentials from Southern New Hampshire University, earned between August 2020 and December 2022, and a high school diploma from Willamette High School, graduated in 2010.
