Frédéric Pradeilles

Technical And Scientific Director at EUMETSAT

Frédéric Pradeilles has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership and technical roles. Currently, they serve as the Technical and Scientific Director at EUMETSAT, where they are responsible for managing a team of 280 people from 30 different nationalities and overseeing a budget of approximately €80M. In this role, they are involved in the development and operations of satellite systems, providing technical and project management solutions.

Prior to their current position, Frédéric worked at CNES, the French space agency, from 2016 to 2021. During their time at CNES, they held multiple roles, including Director of Digital, Operations, and Innovation. Frédéric played a key role in driving innovation, managing operations, and leading the digital transformation efforts of the organization.

Before joining CNES, Frédéric worked at Sogeti France as the Business Unit Manager of the European Security Expertise Center (ESEC) from 2014 to 2015. Frédéric was responsible for managing and promoting security expertise in the European market.

From 2010 to 2013, Frédéric served as the VP Space Navigation Defence and Security Business Development at CAPGEMINI AEROSPACE & DEFENCE. In this role, they focused on business development activities related to space navigation, defense, and security.

Frédéric's career also includes positions at CS GROUP and CS Communication & Systems, where they held senior leadership roles in the areas of technology and homeland security.

Additionally, they have experience in the defense sector, having worked at DGA - Direction générale de l'armement from 1999 to 2006. In this role, Frédéric held leadership positions in the field of space, earth observation, intelligence, and complex systems engineering.

Before entering industry and government roles, Frédéric started their career as an Associate Professor in the department of mathematics at ISAE-SUPAERO from 1996 to 1999.

Overall, Frédéric Pradeilles has solid experience in both technical and leadership roles in the aerospace, defense, and digital sectors. Frédéric has demonstrated expertise in leading teams, managing operations, and driving innovation.

Frédéric Pradeilles began their education in 1988 at École Polytechnique, where they pursued their undergraduate studies. Frédéric then went on to complete a Master's degree in Probability and Statistics from Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) in 1992. Following this, they joined Aix-Marseille University, where they earned a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, studying there from 1992 to 1995. In 1996, they pursued a Post-Doctoral fellowship at the University of Maryland, focusing on Applied Mathematics. Later, in 2013-2014, they attended the Institut des Hautes Etudes de la Défense Nationale (IHEDN), specializing in Geopolitics, Strategy, and Defense.
