Kévin Barbieux

Remote Sensing Scientist Atmospheric Wind Products at EUMETSAT

Kévin Barbieux has had a diverse work experience. Kévin started as an Associate at JuMP MINES ParisTech in 2011, followed by a Software Development Internship at Infosys in 2012. In 2013, they worked as a Technical Development Intern at PSA Peugeot Citroën while concurrently pursuing a PhD at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where they researched and developed tools for airborne pushbroom hyperspectral cameras. At EPFL, they also processed satellite data to monitor ice coverage of lakes. Finally, they joined EUMETSAT in 2018 as a Remote Sensing Scientist, focusing on atmospheric wind products.

Kévin Barbieux has a strong education background in computer sciences and data processing. From 2013 to 2018, they pursued a PhD in Computer Sciences with a focus on Hyperspectral Data Processing at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). Prior to that, from 2010 to 2013, they earned a Master's degree in Sciences and Executive Engineering from Mines Paris, with a minor in Applied Mathematics. In addition to their academic achievements, Kévin has also obtained certifications in English proficiency. Kévin scored 105/120 in the TOEFL exam in January 2013, and 985/990 in the TOEIC exam in October 2012.
