Martin Hermes

LEO Mission Control Systems Operations Engineer at EUMETSAT

Martin Hermes has over 18 years of experience in the field of space operations. Martin started their career in 2002 at ESA/ESOC, where they served as a Spacecraft / Ground Controller and later as a Spacecraft Operations Engineer. In 2005, Martin joined VEGA GmbH, EUMETSAT, where they were responsible for developing ground segment procedures and overseeing the commissioning phase of the MetOp program. In 2009, they transitioned to Telespazio VEGA Deutschland GmbH, EUMETSAT, where they worked as a System Operations Engineer for 8 years. During this time, they were involved in various aspects of system operations. In 2017, Martin joined Exostaff GmbH, EUMETSAT, as a System Ops Prep Engineer, where they were responsible for preparing system operations. Martin is currently employed at EUMETSAT as a LEO Mission Control Systems Operations Engineer, a position they have held since February 2019.

From 1994 to 1999, Martin Hermes attended the University of Glasgow, where they studied Aeronautical Engineering.
