Sruthy Sasi

Aerosol Product Development Scientist at EUMETSAT

Sruthy Sasi has extensive work experience in the field of aerosol product development and research. Currently, they hold a position as an Aerosol Product Development Scientist at both EUMETSAT and RHEA Group, starting in November 2021. Prior to these roles, they worked at DLR as a Research Assistant from July 2016 to August 2021, where they focused on the retrieval of aerosol optical properties from satellite measurements. This involved using sensor images to determine aerosol optical thickness and layer height, as well as analyzing uncertainties in aerosol microphysical model database selection. Before joining DLR, Sruthy was a Student Research Assistant and Master thesis student, also at DLR, from July 2013 to April 2015. Early in their career, they gained experience as a Project Intern at BITZTEK TECHNOLOGIES (INDIA) PRIVATE LIMITED from October 2009 to April 2010.

Sruthy Sasi completed their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from the College of Engineering Poonjar, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Sruthy then pursued a Master's degree in Earth Oriented Space Science and Technology at the Technical University of Munich from 2012 to 2015. Currently, they are a Doctoral Candidate at the TUM Graduate School, specializing in Satellite Remote Sensing.
