Stefania Tarquini has a diverse work experience in the aerospace industry. Stefania began their career in 2010 as a Space Propulsion Internship at Surrey Satellite Technology Limited (SSTL). Stefania then joined the European Space Agency in 2010 as the Propulsion Team Leader for the European Student Moon Orbiter (ESMO) project. In this role, they were responsible for the propulsion sub-system design, project management, and interface support between various stakeholders.
In 2013, Tarquini joined Telespazio VEGA Deutschland GmbH, where they worked as an EUMETSAT Polar System Spacecraft Analyst. Stefania'sresponsibilities included daily reporting and analysis of routine operations for LEO satellites, spacecraft anomaly analysis, and preparation of operational procedures and documentation.
Stefania then moved to EUMETSAT in 2015 and held various roles. As the LEO Spacecraft Operations Engineer, they led a team and coordinated activities related to the Metop platform, including the coordination of the Spacecraft In-Orbit Verification phase for Metop-C. Stefania also worked as the CO2M Operations Preparation Manager, where they managed a team and led the EUMETSAT contribution to the design and development of the Copernicus CO2M routine Operations.
Tarquini's most recent role at EUMETSAT was as the METOP-A End-of-Life Project Manager. In this position, they planned and coordinated the execution of several technological experiments on the Metop-A instruments with the objective of data quality improvement and operations optimization.
Overall, Tarquini has demonstrated expertise in spacecraft operations, project management, and coordination of cross-organizational resources.

From 2001 to 2006, they attended Liceo Scientifico A. Einstein in Teramo, Italy, where they obtained a Secondary Education Certificate with a scientific orientation.
From 2006 to 2010, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.
From 2010 to 2012, they furthered their education at Politecnico di Milano, earning a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Space Engineering.
In 2012, they had a visiting scholar experience at Penn State University, focusing on Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical/Space Engineering.
Additionally, they have obtained several certifications. In August 2012, they received a TOEFL score of 106/120 from ETS. In February 2010, they achieved a score of 785 in the TOEIC exam, also conducted by ETS. In September 2017, they completed the PRINCE 2 Foundation and Practitioner program offered by AXELOS Global Best Practice. Most recently, in December 2020, they completed the ISU Space Course at the International Space University.
