Hannes Obermair has an extensive work experience spanning several industries and roles. hannes began their career as a Train Attendant at TUI Company in 1981. From 1991 to 2001, they worked as an Inspector at Südtiroler Landesverwaltung. In 2001, they were granted a research fellowship at the Max-Planck-Institut für Geschichte, where they focused on medieval urban history in the Alpine Region. From 2002 to 2017, they worked as the Head of Civic Archives of Bozen-Bolzano, conducting historical research and organizing public events. hannes then worked as a Lecturer at Universität Innsbruck from 2014 to 2019. In 2018, they became a Scientific Consultant at Landesmuseen Südtirol. Lastly, they currently hold the positions of Philosopher-in-Residence and Senior Researcher at Eurac Research.
Hannes Obermair started their education journey at Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck from 1980 to 1987. hannes pursued a Ph.D in History and Philosophy during this time. Later, from 1987 to 1989, they attended the University of Vienna studying History. However, it is not specified if they obtained a degree from this institution.
