Sami Akhtar

Sami Akhtar has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Products at Eureka Robotics, where they focus on developing advanced robotics and AI technologies for manufacturing and logistics. Their responsibilities include working with deep-learning computer vision, high-accuracy calibration, robust force control, and real-time motion planning to enable high accuracy and high agility applications. Specifically, they work on vision applications for optical lenses localization, optical components inspection, and sacks and cartons depalletization.

Prior to their current role, Sami Akhtar worked at GreyOrange, starting as an Engineer, Optical Transceiver Design at Hitachi in 2001 and moving on to roles such as Lead Engineer, ASIC/SOC Design at Advantest, SOC Design Consultant & Business Development at CM Engineering Labs Singapore, and Staff Applications Consultant at Synopsys Inc in 2012.

At GreyOrange, Akhtar held multiple positions, including Associate Director of Product Management, Group Product Manager, and Product Manager & Japan Business Development. In these roles, they contributed significantly to the growth of the company, leading product strategy, driving software engineering teams, advising hardware teams, and overseeing product roadmap and GTM strategies.

Notably, Sami Akhtar played a crucial role in setting up and expanding the Japan business for GreyOrange, working directly with the CEO APAC. Sami was responsible for partner development, end customer sales, vendor development, solution design, and Japan organization setup. Under their leadership, the Japan business grew from $0 to $12M+ per year in a year and a half. Sami also established product marketing structures to replicate and expand business to other geographies, starting from EMEA to North America.
