João Brás

João Brás has a diverse work experience in the field of audiovisual production. João started their career as an intern at Restart in 2012, where they gained practical knowledge in the technical department. João also worked as a camera operator at AVK Audiovisuais para Eventos in the same year. In 2012, they briefly served as an assistant sound engineer at beActive Media. From 2012 to 2017, João worked as a freelance video editor and camera operator, showcasing their skills in both roles. In 2014, they worked as an audiovisual technician and camera operator at Shadowplay for a year. João then joined Orangepopcorn as a technical director in 2015 for a brief period. From 2015 to 2017, João worked as a Playout operator at Cofina Media, demonstrating their expertise in managing the broadcast system. Finally, they joined Europalco in 2017, initially as a camera operator and later promoted to the position of Head of Camera Department in January 2019.

João Brás has a diverse education background in multimedia design and audiovisual production. João began their education in 2008 at the Universidade da Beira Interior, where they pursued a Licenciatura degree in Multimedia Design, completing it in 2011.

During the years 2011 and 2012, João undertook a Pós-Graduação degree at RESTART | instituto de criatividade, artes e novas tecnologias, specializing in General Audiovisuals. João then continued their education at the same institution in 2012 and 2013, completing another Pós-Graduação degree, this time in Post-Production of Audiovisuals.

In addition to their formal education, João Brás has also obtained various certifications to enhance their skills in the field. In 2015, they completed the Blackmagic Programming and Operation certification from Blackmagic Design. João further expanded their knowledge by obtaining the ITX Integrated Playout certification from Grass Valley in 2017 and the K-FRAME PRODUCTION SWITCHERS certification from Grass Valley in 2018. In 2019, João obtained the Luminex Certificate from Luminex Network Intelligence, and in 2020, they acquired the Vmix Operator certification from vMix. João'smost recent certification is in the Ross Carbonite Ultra programming and operation, which they obtained in July 2021 from Ross Video.
