Michelle Stewart

Michelle Stewart has extensive experience in the field of international education and has held various leadership positions throughout their career. Michelle is currently serving as the Immediate Past President of EAIE: European Association for International Education, where they previously served as President and Vice President. In these roles, Michelle has been instrumental in supporting the international education community during the pandemic, expanding online content, and overseeing the association's operations.

Prior to their role at EAIE, Michelle served as the Head of Internationalisation for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Strathclyde. Michelle was responsible for developing and implementing initiatives to foster international collaboration and revenue growth, as well as identifying partnerships and contracts with overseas ministries and universities.

Before their time at the University of Strathclyde, Michelle held the position of Deputy Director of Development and External Affairs at the University of Stirling. In this role, they managed various sections and budgets, collaborating with different departments to support student recruitment, fundraising, international affairs, and marketing.

Michelle also has experience working at the University of Strathclyde as the Head of the Recruitment & International Office. In this role, they developed and implemented strategies for student recruitment and managed a team and budget. Earlier in their career, Michelle served as an Operating Board Member at the British Council and as a Company Secretary at Spangle London, a company specializing in TV programs and commercials. Michelle also served as the Chair of the British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association.

Michelle Stewart earned a BA in Public Administration from Glasgow Caledonian University from 1982-1985. Michelle then went on to obtain an MBA in Business Administration and Management from the University of Strathclyde from 1999-2001. In 1996-1997, Michelle received a Diploma in Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing. Additionally, in 2009, they completed a program at Harvard Graduate School of Education, obtaining an MDP.
