IB Career-related Programme Service-learning Coordinator at European Azerbaijan School

Gunel Hasanova is an experienced educator currently serving as the IB Career-related Programme Service-Learning Coordinator and Head of English Department at European Azerbaijan School since 2021, in addition to roles as Service Learning Coordinator and MYP Language and Literature Teacher. Gunel Hasanova has been an IB Examiner with IBEN Global since August 2022 and has taught IB MYP English at the 132-134 Education Complex since September 2018, while also holding the position of Lead Teacher. Previous experience includes serving as an Expert at the Azerbaijani National Examination Center for the Ministry of Education from April 2017 to November 2019, and teaching various English courses at European- Azerbaijan School from 2010 to 2019 and Istek Liseyi from 2008 to 2011. Gunel Hasanova holds a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/pedagogy from University of Engineering Baku, obtained in 2008.

The European Azerbaijan School is a private school authorized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The school offers the following programmes: The International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) authorized in 2017 the IB Diploma Programme (DP) authorized in 2015 and the Middle Years Programme (MYP) authorized in 2021 and became IB World School. The school is also a member of the Council of International School (CIS) an organization that is committed to providing high-quality international education. The school has grown from the original 95 students in 2012 to the current number of 700 students.
