Rachael Barza

Rachael Barza is an experienced economist specializing in climate adaptation, nature finance, and economic analysis. Currently serving as Associate Director at EBRD since October 2022, Rachael leads initiatives in climate adaptation and nature finance. Previously, Rachael held roles as Senior Engagement Manager and Engagement Manager at Vivid Economics from March 2021 to October 2022, and as Senior Economist at Save the Children UK, focusing on cost-effectiveness and options appraisal in program designs from August 2019 to March 2021. Rachael's extensive background includes a tenure at The Brattle Group, where expertise in international arbitration and market design was developed over eight years. Early career experiences include roles at Mercy Corps and the International Rescue Committee, contributing to monitoring, evaluation, and support for refugee employment. Rachael holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University and a BA in Economics and Mathematics from Barnard College.
