William Battye

William Battye is a seasoned professional in climate strategy and economic development, currently serving as Principal (II) Climate Strategy and Delivery and Principal Economist at EBRD since August 2019. With extensive experience as an Independent Consultant since April 2016, William has contributed to various high-profile projects, including climate finance architecture mapping and modeling economic impacts of carbon pricing. Previous roles include Associate Director at Tetra Tech Europe, Senior Advisor at the Global Green Growth Institute, and Programme Manager at Natural Capital Partners, all of which involved advisory work, project development, and policy formulation. Earlier in William's career, roles at Group Energy and DFID focused on project structuring, climate change policy, and international development advisory. William holds an MSc in Development Finance and Development Economics from The University of Manchester and has completed additional postgraduate courses related to sustainable development and energy.
