Adam Roth has a diverse work experience in the field of public health and epidemiology. Adam is currently the Head of the Fellowship Programme at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), a position they have held since May 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Folkhälsomyndigheten where they held several roles, including Head of Unit for Vaccination Programs and Head of the Unit for Preparedness and Crisis Management. Adam also worked as a Medical Doctor and epidemiologist, specializing in Clinical Microbiology, at the same organization.
Before joining Folkhälsomyndigheten, Adam Roth worked as the Team Leader Surveillance and Operational Research (Epidemiologist) at the Secretariat of the Pacific Community, where they supported public health surveillance in 22 Pacific island countries and independent states. Adam also worked as an MD, PhD and conducted research at the hospital. Prior to that, they completed their PhD at Statens Serum Institut and was a PhD student at the University of Copenhagen. Adam also had internships at Region Skåne and the World Health Organization.
