Maria Keramarou is an experienced epidemiologist currently serving as a Scientific Officer at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), specializing in the surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases. With a robust academic background, Maria holds a PhD in Molecular Epidemiology from the University of Crete and has contributed to teaching and research in public health. Prior roles include coordination of health promotion initiatives at the University of Crete, various research positions, and epidemiology consultancies. Maria has also gained international experience through fellowships and research in countries such as Sri Lanka and Nigeria, and remained actively involved in project management within the EPIET Alumni Network.
