Marta Bertrán Pérez-Hickman is an EPIET Fellow at both the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment since September 2023. Previous experience includes a deployment as an Epidemiologist with the World Health Organization to support mpox preparedness and response in South Sudan, as well as managing invasive pneumococcal disease, H. influenzae, and rotavirus surveillance at the UK Health Security Agency as a Senior Scientist. Prior roles include contributions as an Epidemiological Analyst at Public Health England and as a Public Health Intelligence and Information Officer with Islington Council. Marta holds a Master of Science in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Pharmacy degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, supplemented by a Bachelor of Pharmacy from UC San Diego.
