Hilde Hardeman

Hilde Hardeman serves as the Director General of the Publications Office of the European Union at the European Commission since August 2005, previously holding various significant positions including Director of the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments, where responsibilities focused on implementing EU foreign policy and crisis response. Notable past roles include Deputy Head of Cabinet for Vice-President Jyrki Katainen, Head of Unit for President Barroso's briefings, and coordinating relations with Russia and Eastern European nations. Hilde's academic contributions include being a visiting professor at the College of Europe and adjunct assistant professor at Vesalius College. Hilde holds a PhD in Slavic Philology and History from KU Leuven and a Master’s in Russian and East European Studies from Stanford University, complemented by leadership training from the London Business School.
