Malcolm Mallia

Malcolm Mallia has extensive experience as a Solution Architect and Java Tech Lead. Malcolm has worked for various companies, including the European Commission, where they served as a Solution Architect and Secure Coding Team Lead. At the European Commission, their current technologies included Java 8, Spring, Maven, Hibernate, WebLogic, Oracle, and Angular4.

Malcolm has also worked as a Director and Co-founder at 7 Guests Limited, as a Solution Architect and Java Tech Lead at Superdry, and as a Solution Architect and Senior Engineer at Credit Suisse. At Credit Suisse, they were responsible for working on an optimization engine project and managing various interfaces using JAX-WS and IBM MQ.

Additionally, Malcolm has worked as a Senior Java Engineer at UBS, where they were part of a team creating a prototype for capturing Limit Orders for Foreign Exchange and Precious Metals. Malcolm also has experience as a Senior Java Engineer at Digisoft.tv/TVTextbook, where they introduced Agile methodology and acted as a ScrumMaster while designing and implementing a reporting module.

Furthermore, Malcolm has worked as a Senior Software Engineer at EMC, contributing to the development of tools for managing a Storage Area Network. Malcolm has also held positions as a Senior Software Engineer at ING, a Contract Software Engineer at IBM, and a Software Contractor at Lycos Europe.

Malcolm Mallia obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from The Open University, from 1996 to 2000. In addition, they acquired various certifications including GIAC Certified Web Application Defender (GWEB) from GIAC Certifications in January 2020, GDPR for Security Professionals from (ISC)² in 2019, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer - Information Security Certification from BSI in 2019, CSSLP from (ISC)² in 2018, Certified EU GDPR Foundation and Practitioner from The Knowledge Academy in 2018, Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance in 2011, and Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 from Oracle in 2006.
