Sebastian Weigert has a strong background in risk management and financial consulting. Sebastian started their career in 1996 as a Bank Employee at Stadtsparkasse Magdeburg, where they worked until 1999. Sebastian then became a Banking Officer for a few months before transitioning to Stadtsparkasse Magdeburg as a Working Student Treasury from 2001 to 2003. In 2003, Sebastian moved to icubic consulting gmbh as a Senior Consultant until 2007. After that, they joined European Commodity Clearing AG as a Senior Risk Specialist until 2011, and then continued to work there in various roles such as Senior Expert Risk Controlling, Product Owner Risk, and most recently as Head of Risk Solutions.

Sebastian Weigert obtained a Master's degree in Economics with a specialization in Risk Management and Financial Controlling from Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. Sebastian attended the university from 1999 to 2005. Additionally, they have earned certifications as a Certified Data Scientist from Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, obtained in December 2022, and as a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Scrum Alliance, obtained in January 2022.
