Anje Stiers has a diverse work experience in the energy and regulatory sectors. Anje is currently a Member of the ACER expert group on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency at the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER). In the past, they have held positions such as Head of EU Representation Office and Senior Political and Regulatory Affairs Advisor at the European Energy Exchange AG. Anje has also been a Member of the Consultative Working Group (CWG) of the Commodity Derivatives Task Force (CDTF) at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). Additionally, they have worked as the Head of Working Group Financial Markets and Task Force Market Integrity & Transparency at Europex- Association of European Energy Exchanges. Prior to that, they have held roles in EU Affairs and EU Policy Advising at various organizations such as Statnett SF, Bernard Energy Advocacy, Elia System Operator, Science Business, and the European Commission.
Anje Stiers obtained a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Sciences from LUCA School of Arts in 2006, with a specialization in Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship. Anje went on to earn a Master's degree in Commercial Sciences from LUCA School of Arts in 2007, specializing in Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship. From 2006 to 2008, Anje also attended LUCA School of Arts for a Teaching Programme. Anje further pursued their education at KU Leuven, completing a Master after Master degree in International Business Economics with a specialization in European Politics from 2007 to 2008. Anje then returned to KU Leuven for their Bachelor's degree in Philosophy with a specialization in Ethics, which they completed from 2009 to 2016. Currently, they are pursuing a Master's degree in Philosophy with a specialization in Ethics at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, expected to be completed in 2023.
