Jan Richter

Jan Richter has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Jan started their career in 2008 as a Consultant and Research Associate at ewi Energy Research & Scenarios gGmbH, where they conducted studies for the German government and energy industry clients. Jan then joined European Energy Exchange AG in 2013, initially working in Political & Regulatory Affairs and later in Strategy and Market Design. In 2015, Richter joined Powernext SAS as Head of Market Regulation & Surveillance and also took on responsibilities in communications and as a member of the Executive Committee. Jan held this position until 2019 when they returned to European Energy Exchange AG as Head of Group Regulatory Strategy. In 2023, they were promoted to Head of Group Strategy. Throughout their career, Richter has focused on understanding and navigating the global regulatory environment and ensuring compliance with various financial market regulations.

Jan Richter received a Master's degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Münster from 2003 to 2008. Jan then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Economics from the University of Cologne from 2008 to 2013.
