Sebastian Schrader is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in forestry and environmental management. Currently serving as a Timber Legality Assurance Systems Expert at the European Forest Institute since May 2013, Sebastian has previously held significant roles including Project Manager at SGS, overseeing a national Wood Traceability and Tax Collection System in Liberia, and Regional Coordinator for WWF Greater Mekong Programme, where responsibilities included coordinating forest certification and responsible wood purchasing initiatives. Additionally, Sebastian acted as Chief Technical Advisor for various sustainable forestry projects in Vietnam and Laos, as well as providing technical advice at KfW Development Bank for green sector projects in Southeast Asia and West Africa. Early career experience includes work as an Associate Coordinator for an NGO focused on youth and women's empowerment, and as a volunteer working with street children in Ivory Coast. Sebastian holds dual degrees (BSc, MSc) in Forest Engineering from the University of Freiburg, Germany.
