Editor In Chief European Heart Journal - Imaging Methods And Practice at European Society of Cardiology

Alessia Gimelli is a highly accomplished medical professional with extensive experience in cardiology and imaging. Currently serving as the Editor in Chief of the European Heart Journal - Imaging Methods and Practice since August 2018, Alessia also holds various prominent roles within the European Society of Cardiology, including ESC Congress Programme Committee Member (2022-2024), Nominating Committee Member, and Board Member of the ESC Advocacy Committee. Additionally, Alessia served as the EACVI Treasurer from 2020 to 2022 and is the Vice-president of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging. As a co-founder of Cardiac Imaging Agora, a web platform launched in April 2020, Alessia facilitates advancements in cardiac imaging. Previous experiences include serving as Dirigente medico at Fondazione Gabriele Monasterio Regione Toscana CNR and involvement with the Cardiovascular Committee of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine. Alessia's educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from Università di Pisa and various postgraduate degrees in Nuclear Medicine and Cardiology.
