Per Johanson

Per Johanson is an accomplished medical professional currently serving as Executive Medical Director and Global Clinical Head at AstraZeneca, a position held since 2013. Johanson has also held roles as Sr Medical Director and Sr Research Physician within the same organization. In addition to this, Johanson is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and an Associate Professor at the University of Gothenburg, where a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) was attained in 2001. Past leadership roles include Vice President and Scientific Secretary at the Swedish Society of Cardiology and participation in the Global Task Force for the Universal Definition of Myocardial Infarction. With extensive experience as a cardiologist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, a postdoctoral research associate at Duke Clinical Research Institute, and involvement with SWEDEHEART, Per Johanson's contributions to the field of cardiology and pharmaceutical medicine are significant.
