Steve Lang

Associate Director, Strategy & Audiences at European Society of Cardiology

Steve Lang has a wide range of work experience spanning over two decades. Steve began their career in 1997 as an Area Product Manager at British Airways (Holidays), where they were responsible for holiday sales in Latin America & Caribbean. Steve then worked at Impact Media as an Editorial Coordinator before joining Disneyland Paris as the Manager of the UK Travel Centre. In this role, they oversaw the performance of a call center and was accountable for UK sales targets and customer service levels.

In 2007, Steve had an internship at The Walt Disney Company as a Sales Development Manager, where they participated in a project to create a sales culture in Disneyland Paris' entry complex. After that, they worked as a Consultant at Cadbury Schweppes, advising on the strategic roadmap for the company's shared services division in the Asia-Pacific region.

In 2008, Steve became the Head of Visitor Operations at English Heritage's Dover Castle, managing a team of staff, retail and catering outlets, and holiday cottages. Steve then transitioned to the National Trust, where they held various roles, including Marketing & Supporter Development Manager and Assistant Director of Consultancy. In these positions, they managed the merger of the South East region and provided internal advice and leadership.

Currently, Steve is working at the European Society of Cardiology as the Associate Director of Strategy & Audiences, a role they started in 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Marketing at the same organization since 2018.

Steve Lang completed their education at the Alliance Manchester Business School, earning an MBA degree in Marketing and Corporate Reputation from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Hispanic Studies from the University of Nottingham, which they completed from 1993 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, Steve has also obtained various certifications, including ones in design thinking from IDEO U.
