Kallonen Markko

Kallonen Markko is an experienced operations officer currently serving at the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia since July 2023. Previous roles include project coordinator at the Centre for European Perspective from January 2021 to June 2023, where involvement in the European Union Civilian Training Initiative occurred. Markko has also held operations officer positions with the OSCE, contributing to the Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine and the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Georgia. Additional experience includes roles as a researcher in external security at Laurea University of Applied Sciences, long-term election observer for the OSCE in Moldova, and earlier research and teaching positions focused on minorities and autonomies. Markko holds a PhD in Political Science and Government from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna and advanced degrees in Human Rights, Democratisation, and various fields from University of Jyväskylä.
