Loizos Symeou

Loizos Symeou currently serves as Associate Professor in the Sociology of Education at European University Cyprus, a position held since September 2007. In this role, Loizos Symeou teaches Sociology of Education and Qualitative Research Methods across various academic levels and was the first Chairperson of the Department of Education Sciences from September 2007 to August 2012. Previously, Loizos Symeou worked as an Assistant Professor of Education Sciences at Cyprus College and as a Lecturer & Researcher at the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute. Loizos Symeou began a career in education as a Primary School Teacher at the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Sociology of Education from the University of Cambridge, an MPhil in Educational Research from the same institution, a Master of Education from the University of Sydney, a Bachelor of Education in Primary Education from the University of Cyprus, and a Diploma in Primary Education from the Pedagogical Academy of Cyprus.
