Andreas Hirblinger

Andreas Hirblinger is a seasoned researcher with extensive experience in peacebuilding and conflict development. Currently serving as a Research Fellow at the European University Institute and as a researcher at the CCDP - Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding since January 2017, Andreas leads an SNF Ambizione project focused on digital peacebuilding under the title "Apomediated Peace." Previous roles include Visiting Researcher at PRIO, Focal Point for Community Management at the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, and consultant at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, where assessments of citizen participation mechanisms and support for the AU Continental Early Warning System were conducted. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Politics and International Studies from the University of Cambridge, a Master’s Degree in International Conflict Studies from King's College London, and dual Bachelor's Degrees in African Studies from SOAS University of London and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
