Friedrich Poeschel

Friedrich Poeschel is a Senior Research Fellow at the European University Institute, leading a work package in the Horizon EU project "Global Strategy for Skills, Migration and Development" since February 2024. Previously, Friedrich served as a Senior Researcher at Eurac Research, supported by a mobility fellowship from the Autonomous Province of Bolzano - South Tyrol, and worked as a Senior Analyst at the European Union Agency for Asylum. Friedrich has extensive experience in migration policy and labor market analysis, having held various positions, including Migration Economist and Labour Market Economist at the OECD, Advisor at the Bundesagentur für Arbeit, and Research Fellow at the Institut für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oxford, complemented by studies at Ecole normale supérieure and the London School of Economics.
