Luca Valtulina has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Luca started their career at Speakup | Bereikbaar zijn zoals jij wilt as a Software Engineer in 2013. During their time there, they designed, developed, deployed, and managed a microservices platform and two Python-based Enterprise Service Buses and APIs. Luca utilized languages such as Python and Java and worked with technologies like Ansible, Docker, and Consul.

In 2018, Luca moved on to join Eventbrite as a Site Reliability Engineer. Luca was initially hired as the first SRE in the LATAM office and subsequently expanded the local SRE team. Luca introduced distributed systems' monitoring and reliability concepts and best practices to engineering teams and supported the migration from a monolithic application to a microservice platform orchestrated by HashiCorp Nomad. Luca also played a crucial role in designing and implementing a system for streamlining an AWS multi-account strategy using Terraform. Luca created and led the adoption of an error budget/SLO framework for team accountability.

In 2022, Luca was promoted to the role of Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Eventbrite. In this role, they designed and deployed a new AWS Transit Network to support the company's Future Operational Model and transferred service-specific infrastructure ownership to engineering teams. Luca also presented their work on the AWS multi-account strategy at HashiConf.

Throughout their career, Luca has demonstrated strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and the ability to adapt to new technologies and environments.

Luca Valtulina pursued their education in a sequential manner. Luca first enrolled at the University of Twente from 2011 to 2013, where they earned a Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Telematics. Prior to this, from 2008 to 2011, they attended Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Computer Science. Additionally, in October 2016, Luca also obtained a certification in Kamalio Advanced Training from the institution Asipto.
