Matthew Lindsey-Clark

Matthew Lindsey-Clark, based in London, is a Senior Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of its European advisory business.

Mr. Lindsey-Clark has over 30 years of investment banking experience and has specialised in advising financial services companies for most of his career. He has advised on a wide range of M&A and capital markets transactions across a number of sectors within the wider financial services market, including banking, finance companies, property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, insurance broking, and asset management. Notable transactions over recent years include advising Novae on its agreed offer by AXIS Capital; Pantheon International on its share capital restructuring; Amlin on the agreed offer by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company; AIG in relation to the sale of Ascot Underwriting to CPPIB; Bridgepoint Private Equity on the sale of Quilter Cheviot to Old Mutual; and Nomura in relation to the acquisition of Lehman’s European operations out of administration.

Mr. Lindsey-Clark joined Evercore on the completion of the acquisition of Lexicon Partners in August 2011. Prior to joining Lexicon in May 2001, he was a Managing Director in Credit Suisse First Boston’s European Financial Institutions Group. From 1997 until its acquisition by CSFB in November 2000, he was with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in London, before which he was at NatWest Markets.

Mr. Lindsey-Clark has a first class degree in Classics from Oxford University. He is Treasurer and Trustee of the Royal Horticultural Society and Trustee and Chairman of the Development Board of Classics for All.
