Heleen Oosthuizen

Heleen Oosthuizen has a strong background in legal and corporate roles. Heleen is currently serving as the Director of Legal & Compliance at Everise, where they oversee compliance with various laws and regulations. Prior to that, they worked as a Deal Lead for Corporate Development at Skylight Health Group, where they strategized and executed transaction agreements. Heleen also gained experience as a Corporate Paralegal at hims & hers, assisting with the reverse merger process, and at Enviva, supporting the CLO with corporate governance tasks. Earlier in their career, Heleen worked as a Legal Counsel at the Land and Agricultural Development Bank of South Africa, handling loan agreements and providing legal counsel on litigation cases. Heleen started their career as an Associate Attorney at VDT Attorneys Inc, managing bankruptcy and insolvency applications and handling litigation matters for a commercial bank.

Heleen Oosthuizen completed a Certificate in Project Management from Norwich University in 2020. Heleen obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Pretoria in 2007, specializing in Law. In addition, they also earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree from the University of Pretoria in 2005, focusing on Law, Accounting, and Financial Management. Heleen further pursued an Advance Short Course in Business Rescue Practice from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2015, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Corporate Law from the University of Johannesburg in 2014. Additionally, they completed a Certificate in Advanced Trust Law from the University of Pretoria in 2007. Prior to their higher education, Heleen attended Waterkloof High School.
