Puneet Tiwari, JD

Puneet Tiwari, JD has a range of work experience in various legal roles. Puneet is currently working as a Partner at Levitt Sheikh Employment & Labour Law since October 2022, and previously served as an Associate Lawyer at the same firm from June 2021 to October 2022. Prior to that, they were the CEO & Co-Founder of Evichat Inc. from August 2016. Puneet played a multifaceted role at Evichat, encompassing strategic planning, business development, sales, and financial management. Puneet also led the company from ideation to MVP, investment, go-to-market, and launch.

Before joining Levitt Sheikh and Evichat, Puneet worked as a Legal Counsel & Legal Claims Manager at Peninsula Canada from July 2020 to June 2021. Puneet also gained experience as an Associate Lawyer at Kesarwani Law Office from August 2014 to January 2017. During their time there, they represented clients in various matters, including securing commercial locations for an axe throwing league, facilitating a Series-A funding round for a cannabis peripherals retailer, and handling wrongful dismissal claims.

Puneet also worked as a Law Student at SkyLaw in April and May 2014, where they drafted ancillary documents for a corporate merger, conducted due diligence searches, and managed minute book maintenance. Prior to that, they served as a Law Student at Deloitte Canada from September 2013 to January 2014, assisting with eDiscovery, document review, due diligence, and litigation support. Puneet also updated and improved the firm's lawyer and time-tracking/billing system.

Additionally, Puneet gained valuable experience as a Judicial Law Clerk for Hon. Rosemarie E. Aquilina at the 30th Circuit Court, Ingham County from January to April 2013. In this role, they drafted court documents, bench memoranda, administrative appeals, legal opinions, and orders under Judge Aquilina's guidance.

Puneet Tiwari, JD has an extensive education history. In 2013, Puneet completed a Juris Doctor degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. Additionally, in 2018, Puneet participated in the Startup School program at Y Combinator, with a focus on entrepreneurial endeavors.

Before pursuing a JD, Puneet received a Certificate in Chinese Law from East China University of Political Science and Law in 2012, specializing in Chinese Business and Institutions. Prior to that, Puneet earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Carleton University in 2010.

In terms of additional certifications, Puneet is listed as a Barrister & Solicitor, having obtained the certification from The Law Society of Upper Canada in September 2015.
