Mary McGovern

Mary McGovern is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership roles within the food industry and consultancy. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor at Evolution VC Partners since September 2021, Mary identifies and assesses high-potential companies for investment opportunities. Previously, as CEO of New Wave Foods, Inc., from April 2018 to August 2021, Mary successfully led a start-up through a critical product launch and secured $18 million in Series A funding during the pandemic. Mary also held roles as COO and advisor at New Wave Foods, where significant product development and strategic pivots were executed. Prior experience includes serving as COO at Ocean Hugger Foods, Inc. and Managing Director at PlantBased Solutions, where innovative marketing and strategic planning were key focuses. Mary’s educational credentials include an MBA in Management/Marketing from Harvard Business School and an M.Ed. in Non-Profit Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
